I'm a geek.  I'm a fanatic, a connoisseur, an amateur, an aficionado, an enthusiast and a student of coffee.  In particular, I love the art of home brewing.  I truly believe that the nearly infinite possible combinations of farm locations, processing and roasting methods and brewing techniques, unpredictably interspersed with the involvement of so many different people, affords the potential for both terrible and glorious coffee experiences.  These myriad of possibilities generate more potential connections between the end coffee result and the palate of the person.  This matchmaking has only just begun.  The new degree of coffee related scientific experimentation and artistic expression is burgeoning - within my life time.  It is a new and relatively undiscovered frontier.  What is really exciting to me about this is the combination of two unique conditions.  First LOTS of people, some statistics say 90% of Americans, are already drinking coffee.  It is a favored beverage even in it's most primitive, undeveloped form.  Second, almost anyone has access to it's higher forms with little investment other than interest and willingness to try.  It's unique because, in comparison, it's easy.  Art, music, many kinds of craftsmanship, philosophy, academics and science all require years of study and a certain proclivity.  Coffee science and art require little of both BUT can be explored endlessly from just about any perspective.  
Lester McCool Coffee is about that.  Discovering and sharing that there is more to coffee.  Endlessly more to be enjoyed together.  I'm going to be discussing coffee shops, baristas, roasters and roasts, farms, brew methods, tools and my own personal coffee experiences.  My deep desire is to see a community grow around this discovery process and to see that community grow in amazement as it discovers both more and more about coffee and more and more about each other.  Join me.  By the way, Lester McCool was my great grandfather.
