Welcome to Darby Porch!  I hope you will feel invited and challenged to discover and share some of the things I am discovering on my journey.  I've tried to break thinks down into sensible categories so I can make sense of my own life.  I'd love to have you poke around, investigate and engage.
There are plenty of entrance points for active involvement in multiple opportunities.  I'd love to partner with you.  I'd really appreciate feedback.  You can tweet me, Facebook me, send an email to curtis@darbyporch.com or comment on a blog post at www.ithinkiwokeup.blogspot.com.  You can even connect to a project at www.neighborlinkup.com  Looking forward to sharing with you.

Favorite Things

I'm a fan of simple, refined craftsmanship that attends to details.  It's a personal measurement and not always about "the best," and certainly not about bells & whistles.  I think each of us has interactions with things and places that just "feel" right.  There are some of both for me on this page.  La Victoria is foundational to good tacos - my truly favorite thing.  Next to my wife and kids... and coffee (that would be a difficult choice - tacos or coffee).

For Sale

I am a recovering contractor in process of downsizing to a not so big house & much smaller shop.  I still have lots that I won't be able to store.  Everything is in good condition unless otherwise noted.

What is Darby?

Darby is the name belonging to my grandmother on my fathers side.  It goes back many centuries to Ireland.  We even had a castle!  My experience with the Darby clan started at a little yellow house with both a front porch and two back porches.  The people who I knew there worked and played hard, loved each other simply and with loyalty - even when it was difficult.  Those who I know mostly from stories are iconic to me.  They make me think of ways I hope to be and a kind of life I try to live.  I have enough connection to borrow the name...
